John T. Farrell, Ph.D. (1948-2017) was a man in long-term recovery and served as the Regimental Chaplain and Director of Campus Ministries at SUNY Maritime College where he taught in the Humanities Department. He was an academician who has spent thirty-five years as a teacher, scholar, and chaplain. Ordained in the Episcopal Church of the United States and a trained labyrinth walk facilitator. He received a Masters of Divinity from Yale University and a Ph.D. in English from the University of Delaware. In 2008, Dr. Farrell served as a Professional-in-Residence at the Betty Ford Center. He was the author of numerous articles and reviews and many books.
