John has over thirty years of sales and marketing experience in the publishing industry. His first bookselling job was at Waking Owl Books near the University of Utah, where he earned his BA in English Lit. He joined publisher Gibbs Smith in 1986, and then moved to Vermont in 1989 to work with Chelsea Green. John was a sales manager at Inland Book Company and Koen Book Distributors, a sales executive with Central Park Media, director of pop culture markets for Bookazine, and a special sales manager for Zagat at Google. In 2013, John migrated back west to join CRP.
