Valerie joined CRP in 2007 and was appointed as managing editor in 2012. She holds a BS degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where she also completed certification programs in professional writing and advanced print design. In her spare time, she volunteers as a board member of Southern Nevada Pug Rescue, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing care and finding loving homes for abandoned pugs. She and her husband, Will, live with their three rescued pugs and two cats, and are also foster pet parents.
